Search tips

To search quickly and effectively:

Refine your search.  Add words or phrases in quotes to further pinpoint what you are looking for. You don't need to use a comma.

Example: "asset allocation" "index funds"

Enter relevant words or phrases.

Use terms unique to the topic. The more relevant the word, the better the results. The search engine finds documents containing as many of these words and phrases as possible, ranked so that the documents most relevant to your search appear first. Search engine results are not case sensitive so you don't need to capitalize your entries.

Example: college financing

Place quotation marks around each phrase.

Quotation marks indicate that the words should appear next to each other in the search results. Separate multiple phrases with a comma and a space but do not include a comma in the quotation marks.

Example: "retirement planning", "Social Security"
